Mountain Tromeja – 1508 meters above sea level
Finally, another lovely weather! And where are we going? Yes, in the mountains! The decision is made – Tromeja with our puppy Kan. I will stand on Slovenian, Italian, and Austrian soil.
We start in front of the Jacobs Resort in Podkoren, and we have about 5 minutes by car to Rateče. There we park in the center of the village, change our shoes, grab our backpacks, and follow the signs for Tromeja. (It is also possible to drive higher by car, as the road leads to Tromeja. Mountain bikers usually also ride here.)
The beginning of the adventure
First, we have to walk through the village for a few minutes until the forest footpath to the Tromeja branches off to the right. The path then climbs steeply for a while. We even walk along the road for a time, and then the trail branches off to the left again. The path continues to climb through the forest in many bends, but the higher we are, the more beautiful the view is. Right in front of us are the mighty Julian Alps.
Towards the end of our trip, the trail flattens out and leads us to a small house, where there is a stamp. From here, we have to continue a little further and walk past the many memorials to the top of Tromeja. Then, admiring the views can begin.
The trail has no special features, suitable for children and puppies. In May, you can experience snow and cold or 20 degrees at the top of Tromeja. It all depends on the weather.
A safe step, even such an easy path, should not be underestimated. I share my tips and ideas of what to see and experience, but each one must take safety care of safety alone. Therefore, for any injuries and accidents, I do not accept responsibilities. Everyone knows how much they can do.
Until next time, Bini
