Another amazing trip embraced by the mountains is the experience of the Martuljek Waterfalls. Our adventure begins in Gozd Martuljek, where we park at one of the parking lots near the bridge over the Sava River. You’ll find the path starting right beside the Triangel Hotel. Initially, you’ll follow a paved cycling route before transitioning to a marked forest path. At the intersections, follow the signs guiding you toward either the ‘Martuljek Waterfalls’ or the ‘Brunarica Pri Ingotu’ mountain hut. Two trails are available – one through the gorge and another along a cart track. Please note, the gorge path may occasionally be closed due to falling rocks. If the path is wet, exercise caution to avoid slipping. The final part of the journey to the second Martuljek Waterfall requires some tough sections where steel cables help you ascend.
In around two hours, we reach both waterfalls and climb approximately 470 meters in height. Most of the path is undemanding, except for the final section leading to the second Martuljški Waterfall. Caution is necessary on the gorge path due to falling rocks. We suggest taking a break at the ‘Pri Ingot’ mountain hut.
