The first snow of the year

The first snow of the year has fallen in Kranjska Gora and even in other regions of Slovenia. Kranjska Gora is accelerating its preparations for the new ski season. Of course, health is most important, but I still hope that this year, despite the uncertain times, we will be able to enjoy skiing.

The ski slopes of Kranjska Gora

The ski slope is arranged along the slopes of Vitranc/ Podkoren and from Kranjska Gora to Planica. Most of them are easy (blue color ski slopes) or medium-heavy (red color ski slopes). Only the Podkoren ski slopes belong to the hard lines (black colors slopes). Men’s World Cup races, slalom, and giant slalom are usually held here (on Podkoren ski slopes) in early March.

Of course, renting ski equipment in Kranjska Gora is possible. There are many ski schools here; children often make their first turns on their skis right here. If you are a guest of the Jacobs Resort, you also have a discount at the Orel Ski School and at the Brunarica Kosobrin (homemade foods and drinks), which stands under one of the ski lifts halfway between Kranjska Gora and Podkoren. From the Jacobs Resort apartments to the Podkoren ski slopes, part of the ski resort is only 7 minute’s walk.

Some more things you can do in Kranjska Gora

Of course, walks, sledding or cross-country skiing are also possible here, so there are many options for enjoying a holiday in the fresh air, snow, and sun in Kranjska Gora.
